We now have a completed ER diagram for our database. This was based on our previously completed SoftwareRequirementsSpecification. The requirements previously outlined were clarified through the documentation and modeling in this milestone. In addition to the ER Diagram, we have a traceability matrix that illustrates how the ER diagram meets the requirements set forth in the SoftwareRequirementsSpecification.
We also have constructed data flow diagrams which represent the overall flow of data throughout different aspects of the application and between different users of the application. This will directly help in the next milestone since we will be using struts. Our application structure will relate directly to our data flow diagrams.
Finally, we have given some thought as to the user interface and layout for the end product through the use of low fidelity prototyping.
One major strength of this milestone was implementing the software requirements in our ER model. Our second major strength was in creating data flow diagrams which will work the same way as the struts framework in our final implementation. This sets up an overall structure and organization for our application.
A major weekness of this milestone was that much work was left until immediately before it was due to be completed. We will try to plan better in future milestones so that our time and resources can be better managed to complete milestone deliverables in advance.
The current status of the project is green, however there are some risks we will have to overcome in future milestones. The milestone was completed on time, but better planning will help to ensure all the deliverables are properly prepared in advance for future milestones.
