I have a passion for music. I always have. My biggest inspiration to put this passion into the lives of others (or at least give them the opportunity to discover it) is Mr. Scavone, my high shcool band director. His classroom is an environment of mutual respect between him and his students, and of supportive "pushing". By this I mean that his biggest pet peeve is "young people putting limitations on themselves." He knew what we were capable of, and he pushed us a little more towards something better each and every quarter of my high school career. He continues to push his current students, and the fruits of his efforts are obvious. Their concerts are truly enjoyable works of art. I hope to be as good with the kindergarteners I want to work with as he is with his high school students.
